In this district a man named Dr Moore owned a hill on which was situated a large stone. It was a long flat stone about seven feet high. It was stuck into the ground and was well protected by a mound of stones around it. On one occasion he let this particular as conaire to a neighbouring man. The man decided before ploughing it to remove the stone. He got the stone knocked down and removed it to one side of the field with the horse. He ploughed the field and sowed a crop of corn in it. When the harvest came there had only grown an old stalk of corn here and there through the field. HeAileen Brennan
