The Care of the Feet Long ago the country people wore no boots until they were seventeen years old, and there were several people who never wore shoes or boots atal, because the had no hard work to do. At present, most children go barefoot during the Summer, but they all wear boots in the winter. There are eight shoemakers in this district now, so that most of the strong boots are made, and all the repairs are done locally. Some families had a shoemaker in them for generations. There were not near as many shoemakers long ago, because those were not as many boots worn. Clogs were very much worn before and some are worn still.Mercedes Blanco
