It is another favourite game. Three holes are made in a straight line. Then the first player "cants" off for the middle hole. If he gets in he continues to the third hole; if he fails, number two "cants" off; if he hits the first he can have "tippens" at him, and hop across into the middle hole. He can then throw at number one again; and if he when struck shouts "tippens" number two must side clench him and continue on to number three hole. Number one tries for middle again and then goes on to the third hole. Should he succeed in getting number two player into the hole along with himself, he can have "digs" at him, - three shots, - in order to get him out again. If he fails he continues to the "middle" hole of "middlin" game; then he goes for the bottom hole or "garry" and thus wins the game. The last boy gets "knuckles" (i.e. he places his knuckles on the ground and they are struck with the "taw";) from the boy who wins. During the game if there is another "taw" within three "spans" of the person who is playing, he may try to hit it instead of going into one of the holes.FezzikThis game is played during the chestnut season, and two boys take part. Each attaches a chestnut to the end of a piece of string. Each in turn tries to crack his opponents chestnut with his own as "baton". The game continues till one boy succeeds.FezzikIt is a fireside game. The player who gives out the button joins his hands and puts the button between them. All the players around join their hands in the same way. The player with the button goes around to each of them in turn. They open their hands slightly forFezzik
