30 My Home District I live in the townland of Grogagh, in the Parish of Ahamlish in the County of Sligo and the Bareny of Carbery. There are eleven families in the townland, and about fifty people.The family name most common is that of Feeney. The townland lies along a high ridge of fertile land which runs East to West for about half a mile. Almost all the families are situated on the Northern slope of this ridge. Long ago this townland was situated where John Feeney's house now stands. Until the present "Housing Scheme" came into force all the houses with one exception were one-storey thatched cottages having three apartments - a kitchen and two rooms. The one exception was a two-storey building-three apartments on the ground floor and three on the top floor. ThisSharon M
