When the present Patt Tiernan's grandmother was a young girl, she lived in Ballyfarney about five miles from Dromore West. (Patt is now about 60 years) One morning after milking time she was driving her cows out the mountain. She heard a noise and turning round she saw a peculiar little woman - sort of dwarf - near her. She addressed the dwarf and the two got into conversation. After some time the little woman told her that she would not be always living where she was then. She said she would be soon living near a stream & in the garden of the house would be a tree - (She described this tree) & under the tree there would be a crock of gold. She told her that crock of gold could be hers if she did the following - She should get a bottle of Uisge na CincĂse - cork it with green grass & place itMichael KillegarSarah Goldberg
