Landlords of the Locality 9.5.1938 Clontubrid The landlord of Cloontubrid where I live was Lord Stackpool. He lived in Dublin. His agent was Mr Wallace. He lived in a big house in Cloontubrid where he had a large farm. There were no evictions in the locality as the people always paid their rents. The agent through his bailiff had some trouble in dividing the bogs. Some people wanted more bog than their neighbours. The Land League had no need for action. There were Fianians in the district that were very determined and were very much dreaded by the Landlord and his men. The landlord sold his estate to the land Commissioners in the year 1902 and he divided the boys rent free among the tenants. Nell Kirwin, Cloontubrid, Drumlish,4Longford.Louise Whelan
