There are two tailors in the district now John Tuohy Senior and John Tuohy junior of Ballygreaney, Ballymacward, Woodlawn, County Galway. They work in the home and they do not go from house to house like that of former years. They do not stock cloth. Cloth is not spun and woven locally. The implements used by the tailor are a machine, an iron and a pressing board. Shirts are made in the homes. They are usually made from flannette. Socks and stockings are knitted in the homes also. The thread is spun in some houses. there are about five spinning wheels in the district. There is one at Dempseys, Colemanstown, Ballinasloe, County Galway. There is one at Connallens, Cloonkeen Kerrill, Colemanstown, Ballinasloe, County Galway. There is one at Scarrys Gurteen, Woodlawn, County Galway. Mary Flannery of Colemanstown owns one, Mrs. Bolton of Ballygreaney, Ballymacward, Woodlawn, County Galway has one Scarrys and Dempseys are in use still.
