A Hidden Treasure It is believed that in olden times the Danes buried pots of gold in some fields. I was told by my mother that there is supposed to be three pots of gold in a field belonging to John John Deeney of Drumhalla. About sixty years ago some of the men of Drumhalla started to dig for the gold. When they were digging for a while some of them took sick and they had to leave. It is said a white rat is guarding the gold. The white rat must be killed before the gold can be got.Sarah Gallagher
