"Boys of Mayo" This is the verse.-:
From far east Killala
From Swinford to Balla
Kiltimagh and Claremorris
And old Castlebar
Balla Ballina, Ballinrobe and Bohola
Foxford and Swinford a few miles below
Newport and and Cong old Straide and Munulla
They too count in the County Mayo.
Now boys pull together in all sorts of weather
Don't show the white feather where ever you go
Heave as a brother and help one another
Like true-hearted men of the Co Mayo.
There is a village not far from the town of Balla called Rathduff. Rathduff got it's name from a fort that is in it named Rar-Dub or black fort. There are not many rivers or lakes in Rathduff.
