Long ago there was a big farm situated near Kildangan wherein lived three brothers called Richard, Harry, and Miley. The farm was divided among each man receiving an equal share. The part each got is called newby its former owner's name. - named Richardson, Harristown and Milerstown.
The "Bawn" is called so because it is a grazing district and under the grass tree is nothing but white sand.

In Moore Abbey there is a ell called "Lord Henry's" well; it is called by this name because one day a certain Lord Henry was riding his horse past where the well is at present, and the horse's foot lipped and he found the spring.
