Once upon a time there lived a man in Calry. He had a great wish for card playing.
One night he was out very late and when coming home he had to pass by a turfstack.
He saw a man there standing at a table. The man asked him to have a game of cards.
The gambler said he had no light. The other man took two turf from the stack and placed a candle between them.
They played for about a quarter of an hour. The gambler was winning all the games.
One of the cards fell under the table and the gambler stooped to lift it. He saw that the man had a crúibín foot and understood that it was "the Boyo" himself who had been his companion at card playing.
