  1. About fifty years ago a thunder storm accompanied by lightning raged over Glenties, where by a young man named McGettigan from the Drim-Na-Croish direction loosed his life. It appears McGettigan along with other men were working in the Harvest field. The thunder and lightning got so bad that they took shelter in the byre. After a little the thunder and lightning ceased and McGettigan went to the door to see if the Sky was clearing. With that there came another flash of
