- While many pastimes have changed there still lives in my locality the old pastimes, and the old customs, practised long ago. The old toys that are played with (in the same locality) are similar in form to the ones played with by our forefathers. Some of these are, the bow and arrow, the top, toy guns, and snares. The bow and arrow is made from a piece of cord and a supple rod. Both ends of the rod are tied together forming a semi-circle, and then this toy is ready for use. Tops are made from old spools having one side pointed. Toy guns are made from a piece of the branch of an(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
