    There is a sickness called "Anthony's Fire". A rash brakes out on you and follows a nerve. It can be cured with water cress.

  2. Nearly everyone who has a garden round here sows potatoes. Some sow them in drills and others sow them flat the latter being much easier than the former. The old people call them "poppies" or "spuds"
    To sow them flat you dig a trench six inches wide and six deep. Place manure along the bottom and then put the potatoes down.
