In every house in this town people put up palm on Palm Sunday. It is taken down and burnt the year after and fresh palm put in its place.
In New Abbey there is a stone which when full of water cures warts.
There is also a well on Knookaulin Hill that cures warts and other skin diseases.

There was a battle in Old Kilcullen in 1798.
Three hundred pikemen fought the same number of of cavalry an and around the bridge of Old Kilcullen. The pikemen drove the others back with great losses and won the fight. Later they
