May is the most unlucky month of the year.
The first Sunday after Ash Wednesday is known as "Chalk Sunday" in this part of the country because on that day the "bachelors"and "old maids"clothes are chalked by young boys as a token that they let Shrove pass without getting married .In this part of the country "Walking Fortunes"are common ,these are fortunes in which there is no money but animals of value and so get the name of walking fortunes.
