There are different kinds of potatoes.
There are champions arn barns,
Dates, Kerrpinks,Land Leagures Champions are mostly used for table use.When the stalks are overground they are sprayed to keep away Blight .When they are ripe they are duggand put into a pit.They are covered with straw and earth.Potatoes are a very common crop.Johnny Rodgers in Ballyoughtra used to make timber ploughs and spades a(continues on next page)- Collector
