    Old houses
    Long ago the houses were smaller than they are now. There were no parlours in them. The people kept the beds in the kitchen. Some people had the fire in the middle of the kitchen and others kept it by the wall. The houses were round, with a tatched roof. They kept the hens in the house by night. There were boxes by the wall for them to lay
