  1. There were many old fairs long ago, that are not heard of now. The fair of OC. Mills has got very small for the last twenty years, for many factories are open and the farmers can bring their pigs to them and sell them at top-price. The fair of the Mills was one of the biggest fairs in Clare for pigs fifty years ago.
    On one occasion there were two thousand five hundred pigs there. Another time Killuran road was flooded and the people had to cross the fields with their pigs. All the buyers drove their pigs along the road like
