- Butter making is much more easily done now than in olden times. When the cows are milked the milk is taken to the dairy to be separated. The cream is then poured into the cream-tub and left there for about a week. It is then put into a churn and churned. There are several kinds of churns. In olden times they had only a dash-churn and where there were a good many cows they had a large barrel churn with two iron handles attached(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
