- In olden times people did not wear shoes and now they are worn by children at the age of one year. Nowadays the children go barefooted from May until October very few go barefooted all the year around. Our ancestors especially the women wore shoes only when going to Mass or to market they took them in their hands and put them on near the town or village. Boots and shoes are made locally by the shoemakers. There are more shoemakers(continues on next page)
