    There are four forges in the parish namely John Barry, Paddy Mahony, Robert Mahony and Pat Canty. Some of their people were smiths for generations. One of the forges is situated in Ganderslane two in Duagh and one in Lyre and one in Ballinacarth. They are all situated on the side of the road. The forge is a house made
