- There was once a man and he had a cow. There was someone stealing the milk from her. The people told him to watch carefully between twelve and three o'clock at at the break of May day. He put an iron in the fire. At twelve o'clock he watched carefully. At last he saw a a big white cat. He ran into the house for the iron. When he came out he flung the iron and struck the cat with it. The cow gave plenty of milk after this. A few weeks later the man said he did not see that old woman back there. Himself and another man went back to her. When they went in she was in bed. She said, "you struck me with an iron."
