Ar an leathanach seo
- We sow a half a acre of potatoes every year. Orange-banners, Kerrpinks, Champions, Irish-Queens, British Queens, or Flounders. My father prepares the ground for the potatoes. We set them in ridges and more of them in drills. The ridges are long and square, wider than the drills. The drills are long pointed and narrow. The spades are not made locally but bought in the shop. Before sown the old potatoes are cut up in small pieces. We call them sgiolans and every sgilan must have an eye. If there is a small potato with one eye it will not be cut. When the potatoes stalks just appear above the ground they are weeded and "raised to". Then when they are a foot above the ground they are weeded(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
