    The people are not permitted to fish from six o'clock on Saturday morning to six o'clock on Monday morning. They cast lots to see which of them would be the first to fish. If two people were fishing together they would divide the fish caught between them. It is a free fishery from Ballyhorgan Quay to the Cashen. They say the rosary before they go out fishing and take a bottle of holy water with them for safety.
