- A long time ago we had a churn at home. It is about twenty five years ago since churns were used. It was a common old make of churn. Its height was about two feet six inches, width at top about a foot and width at the bottom about one foot and six inches. The different parts of the churn were the lid, the staff, and the dash. In summer the butter used be made three times a week and in winter it used be made only twice a week. The woman of the house that used do the churning.
