  1. There is one forge in our district - John Mahony's. It is in their family for years. The forge is situated in Greenville. It is near a millstream. There is a slated roof on it. The door was never shaped it was always a plain door. There are two fireplaces in it and only one of them is used. There is a leather bellows in it. These are the names of the tools the smith uses: - An anvil, a hammer, a sledge, a pincers, a chisel, a punch, and a bior. The smith's work is to shoe horses, asses, and wheels, cattle are never shoed in our district. The smith never makes ploughs or harrows, but only repairs them, and repairs pikes
