  1. The road leading from Listowel through Abbeydorney to Tralee is centuries old. In old times before trains were run the mail couch travelled that road carrying mail and passengers. Daniel O'Connell the Liberator travelled on this road to Dublin. The bog road which leads from the bog to the public road is very old. This road was made the time of the famine but it was repaired a few years ago. There is a mud fence across the river at "Praty" about five feet wide. This served as a crossing place in days gone by. There is an old public path leading from Ballyhorgan through Ballintogher and Ballyhennessy to the Clanduglas road.
