    In former times people found remedies for their ailments from the animals the herbs of the earth and holy wells. To cure toothache a frog was fried on the pan and the juice that came from him was out into the tooth.
    To cure sore feet or sprained ankles goose grease was used. People believed that food left behind a ferret would cure whooping cough.
    People often visited Holy Wells and left hairpins or bits of stick to cure headaches and other complaints. Herbs such a dandelion and chickenweed were used for swelling. The seventh son has power to cure ringworm and
