- When the famine came the people died in thousands with hunger. There is still the ruines of houses in some places. There is a track of one in Loughty.
The people say that the people went to other lands when the famine came.
The potatoes failed in the ground.
Anyone that had bodógs the next year they never had better potatoes.
The people did eat yellow meal all that could get it. There was Government relief in some districts.
There was a woman and two children going to bundorcha for oatemeal and they were got(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
