  1. There are three holy wells in the parish. There is one in Killgeire one in Aughable and one behind in the west named Alcor. There is a holy well. Long ago there was prostan living in Aughable and there was a fish in the well. The prostan caught the fish just when they had him on the grid iron rosting the fish leaped of the grid-iron and went in to the well and ever since that day the track of the grid-iron on the fish's back.
