  1. This story was told to me by an old man in our village one cold night last winter. Here it is.
    Long ago the people believed that fairies used to carry away mortals, and those they carried away hardly ever came back. There was a man and woman living near a fort and they had a baby. The fairies stole the baby and left another baby just the same in it's place, the baby they left was a fairy.
    One day the man was going to the smiths forge to get a spade made and the baby spoke for the first time ever. It
