  1. At weddings long ago some people used not like to let straw boys in because they might take all the drink. Once upon a time there was a marrige in Garrow and during the wedding some straw boys come in. They were only at the door when they were turned out and would not be let in again. That night the straw boys did as much damage as they could outside. They took away gates and broke them. When the man that was married found out this he was mad. He knew them and being a cruel revengeful he would be if he would see any of them crossing his fields he would follow them with a fork. If he would get up to them with it.
