Forts.There are many forts in Thradree .They comprise both stone and earthen forts.Of the stone forts the triple -ringed fort at Langough is the largest of its kind known.
There is an ancient Bronze Age hill town and is believed to be in ruin close on two thousand years,and judging by the masses of stone that still remain there ,where the walls once stood ,they must be at least ten foot high and ten feet wide.
Behind such walls as these the inhabitants could remain in safety in spite of raids by other clans.To the south-east of this fort there is another stone fort and the lay out of this fort with its strongest walls facing away from the large fort its lay-out and the size of it walls suggest that it was part of the defences of the(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
