- In the parish of Kilmaley, in a place called Ballymacooda Lord Clare when he was going away to the battle of Dysart O Dea, himself and a servant went and dug a hole, and hid gold. When the gold was hidden he shot the servant so that he would not tell where the gold was hidden.
There was a man named Moroney living in the town land of Barnageeha, this man dreamt three nights in succession where the gold was hidden and himself and an other fellow went to the place but they were driven away by swarms of bees.
