"Notable People"
Not so long ago there lived a very strong man in the parish and his name was John Purcell.He was one of the greatest Athletes ever lived.He died in America.Thjere lives at present a very strong man in this Parish and his name is Pat Mack.He can throw a half cwt over the bar.A great walker is the next person I wish to speak about.I know many great walkers in this Parish and one of them is Mr Pat Heathe.He is still alive .He once went to Limerick in a train he was accompanied by other men .When he was about to return home he missed the train and he then walked home.One of the greatest jumpers I know of in this Parish is Mr Patrick Reddan.He is very good for jumping .One person very much noted for rowing in this parish is Mr.Martin O'Dea.he is wonderful for rowing and he is still alive.The next person I will mention about is a great mower.In this parish at present there lives a man and he is great for mowing.His name is Mr.Michael Moloney.He would mow over an acre of hay every day and he would mow about eight acres(continues on next page)
