Weather Lore.
If there is a red ring around the sun when it is setting, it is the sign of rain.
If there is a misty ring around the moon, it is the sign that there will be a storm.
If the night is cold and many stars in the sky it is the sign of frost.
If the clouds are dark there will be rain.
The rainbow in the morning indicates rain.
The south western wind brings the most rain to the district. The north wind often brings snow.
The south wind always brings showers. The eastern wind brings bitter cold days. When it is going to rain the wag tail hopes along the ground, the swallows fly low, the cat turns his back to the fire and the dog eats grass.
The house fills wit mice.
The sheep go to sheltered side of the hills. The sheep comes on the rocks.
Clouds of dust rising off the road is the sign of rain. The hens pick themselves when the rain is coming.
