Lime was made here also in what was known as a kiln. It was a round structure made of stones. Unusually it was built on the side of a hill so that it was entirely surrounded by earth except on the lower side. This lower side was where the lime used to come out and where the horses used to pull in. The lime was made of limestone rock.
