    She was Paddy Dermott's doll

    Kelpy Joe, that saint, confound him,
    He comes courting up to Skeagh,
    With a pail of water blind him
    When he's kneeling down to pray.

    For they say he loves another,
    Though he swears he is your beau,
    And I think it is your mother,
    So beware of Kelpy Joe.
