    That dares not put it to the touch

    Two lads in the County of Cavan,
    Were pupils at Drutamin School,
    Although neither was brilliant or clever,
    Yet neither was much of a fool.
    They romped and they played, and they quarrelled
    As boys sometimes do in a huff.
    They pelted each other with snowballs,
    Which generally proved rather rough.
    By name and by nature the Master
    Was Sharp(e) and inclined to the birch,
    Which he sued with discretion and vigour,
    And language not used in a church.
    His nose and his name corresponded,
    Irt resemnled the beak of a crow,
    His cough, it was loud and explosive,
    Like a wagghoner's shout of Whoa" Whoa!
