  2. About a hundred and ten years ago Tom Leyland was noted for his great teeth. Everybody talked of him. The hedge-school master of Woodfield, Master Doyle, said this talk was nonsense. He challenged Tom, saying he would give him a gallon of whiskey if he cut the head off a large nail with the strength of his teeth. Tom took the nail and with three squeezes he cut it
