    was laid there by Dealbanna and his clann. Hence the old name for the moat was "Dun Dealbhana". They made the moat from heaps of clay drawn from a field close by and the hollows left there are seen to this day.

  2. Clonan Castle situated in the village of Delvin is said to have been built of "Weeping Stone". No matter how dry the day is the stones are always damp and cold. The old people say they are crying for the old masters.
