Money was always given for goods, except when people would have butter or eggs to sell. They would get goods. When the people that would have shops would be making hay or in the harvest time, the men around would help them with it, and each evening when they would finished, the shopkeeper would give them goods instead of money.
Long ago there were more huxters shops than there was any of the large shops that are to be seen everywhere now as the people were so poor they could not afford to have large shops.
