When they are going on their honeymoon, an old boot or tin-can is tied on the back of the car, to bring luck on them. There is a wedding feast, held in the brides house. "Strawboys" used to visit the bride's house on the night of the wedding. They were dressed in straw from head to foot, and hats made in the shape of a sheafe of oats(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
