  1. There are many customs attached to May eve in this district - The people of the district gather some May bush and early on May morning a few boys would go from house to house and leave some of the bush on the doors. The people of the house would keep the may bush so as to have luck for the month of May.
    On May eve the people never sweep out the dust or the ashes. They left the dust at the back door because it was considered unlucky to sweep it out.
    Long ago the people went to the well on May eve for the water and when returning home they used to put a bottle into it. If they did not put in the bottle they would not be able to get water for the year.
