  1. In olden times people were supposed to be taken away by fairies. One morning Ned Brady of Drumcalpin went on a message and did not return. His people became very anxious about him and started to look for him. After some searching they found him dead at the back of a ditch. They buried him. Some time after he appeared to his brother. He told him that he had been captured by the fairies and that he and the fairy host would be going to Lisgannen fort on horse back that night. He told him that he would be on the fifth horse and in order to rescue him they were to meet him on the way and catch
