- There are many fairy forts in this district. There is a fort situated in the townland of Drumnegar which is my own townland. There is another situated in the townland of Drumole another in Tullyinchin and another in Drumgoney.In the townland of Drumgoney there are two forts all these forts are within view of one and other and each one of them is circular is shape.There is a fence of stone and earth around each fort and there is no entrance hole in the centre. At one time there was an entrance hole but not now. Fair people were supposed to live in them and are yet supposed to live there.In these forts fires have been burning and strokes of light gushing from them in all directions.
Some of these forts have been laboured. The fort in Drumnegar some years ago was laboured, and there was a large crop of potatoes set there.
