    factories are sold in shops. The boot Shops in Cootehill are Eakins, McCuthcheons, Gargains, Blessings and Campbell's. The boots that are bought from the shops are far cheaper than the ones made at home.
    There was a tan-yard in cootehill, the owner of it was Miss Adams, and a child of the town got drowned in one of them and they were closed up because they were to dangerous to the children of the town. There is a sort of foot wear with wooden soles called clogs and they are very warm and you never take a cold or have a tooth ache while you have them on your feet.
