    This name liss is applied to place names such as Lisnalong, Lisnashanna, and Lisnaskea. The name dun is applied to place names as, Dungannon, Dunlaoghaire, Dundee, Dundalk, and Dunmanway, also the name rath is used in place names such as Rathane, and Rathkenny.
    It is said that the Danes built these forts for protection long ago
