The birds and animals also give us signs of the weather. When the seagulls come inland it is the sign of storm. When the curlews ho about crying it is the sign of rain. When the crows go in crowds together it is also the sign of rain. This was a noted sign in olden times. When the swallows fly high it is the sign of good weather and when they fly low it is the sign of rain.
When the cat sits with her back to the fire it is the sign of storm. It is the sign of rain when the dog eats grass or drinks water.
